1. GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Commercial Payments Specialist will work as part of a designated vertical team, which includes
Commercial Business Services, Finance (including Accounting, Treasury, A/R and A/P), Operations,
Account Management, Implementation and Product Management.  The Commercial Payments
Specialist will track and manage customized client payment processes both pre- and post-
implementation. This role will act as the point of contact for payment issues and will liaise with the
Operations and Finance teams as appropriate.

2. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 Document, manage and execute standard processes as well as those associated with customized payment needs for individual clients
 Monitor Payment Instruction Files (PIFs)
o Perform Dual Approval activities
o Monitor CPX platform for expected PIFs
o Send PIF reconciliations to clients when required in custom payment processes
 Document, manage and execute processes associated with refund needs for individual clients
 Document, manage and execute processes associated with reconciling accounts, as necessary
 Train other team members to serve as backup for processes
 Recommend, communicate and track process improvement suggestions
 Answer payment questions and solve issues as they arise, including entering, tracking, and
updating known issues and sharing any appropriate updates cross-functionally.
 Manage client open to buy limits
 Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures
 Other duties as assigned

3. GENERAL QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
 Must know the basics of all Microsoft Office and the Google Suite of products, including but not
limited to email, word, and presentation software.
 Must have advanced knowledge of Excel and workflow products. Knowledge of Tableau a plus.
 Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
 Must be diplomatic and professional when dealing with others.
 Must be able to effectively communicate with and train others.
 Must be able to effectively communicate via e-mail and other written methods, using correct
English language grammar and spelling.
 Must be detail oriented
 Experience with data aggregation and manipulation a plus
 Highly professional demeanor.
 Must be able to resolve problems on a daily basis, handle conflict and make effective decisions
under pressure.
 Must be organized.
 Must be able to to receive and analyze data.
 Must be a team player

Education and Experience Requirements:

 Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial sector.

 High School diploma required. 

A BS degree or equivalent experience desirable

 Traditional Physical Requirements

 Requires prolonged sitting.
 Requires ability to work in open concept office team environment where other team members
are interacting.
 Ability to work until the necessary tasks are completed.
